On September 9th Rikki, Lewis and Matt will take on the task of cycling from London to Paris in aid of 'A Gift to Lift'.   We plan on completing the ride in 4 days with the Eiffel Tower being the finishing line.

A Gift to Lift is a charity founded in memory of Alex Hopwood, who endured chemotherapy, radiotherapy and two bone marrow transplants before losing her battle to Leukaemia in December 2014. With the help of Alex's A Gift to Lift charity you can support people going through the same battle by donating to such a great cause. The charity grants wishes to blood cancer patients, donates to blood cancer research and has an ultimate aim of buying a holiday home so patients can spend quality time with their loved ones away from the hospital environment.

Although we did not know Alex personally, the charity which was founded in her memory donates to a great cause. It cannot be underestimated how much effort and hard work goes in to ensure her legacy continues for many years to come. This is one of the main reasons we decided to raise money for A Gift to Lift and we hope that you can donate, as little or as much as possible, to support what truly is an inspiring organisation.

We are not athletes in any way, shape or form and have been undertaking half marathons and other forms of training to see us through (A mixture of cycling, running and the odd pint or 7 whilst discussing this adventure). For those of you who know us you will understand that, for us 3, this really is a challenge. The standard fitness training we participate in (a hungover game of football on a Sunday morning) just won't cut it unfortunately

With the help of Alex's A Gift to Lift charity you can help to support people going through the same battle by donating to such a great cause.

About the good cause

A Gift To Lift A Gift To Lift

A Gift To Lift was set up by Alex Hopwood in 2014. Alex set up the charity whilst going through harsh treatment for Leukaemia. She started by creating Jewellery and headbands that could be sold as gifts to help provide other patients with a little lift. Also the money raised from the sales of these handmade products went towards giving wishes to blood cancer patients.

Alex received chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and two bone marrow transplants, but Alex unfortunately lost her battle on December 15th 2014. Alex assigned close friends and family to carry out the roles of trustees of the charity, and so today A Gift To Lift continues to raise money to support blood cancer patients, donate towards blood cancer research, and to work towards Alex's dream of buying a holiday home in Norfolk for blood cancer patients to spend quality time with their loved ones.

We welcome and appreciate all of your support no matter how big or small.
