Since 30th December 2019 I have run a minimum of 1 mile a day, and it all started with signing up for RED January 2020 for the charity Mind. When the 1st February came around I decided to carry on to see how far I could take it. As the weeks went by I didn’t want to break my running streak so I continued with it. I’ve run 2 half marathons, a couple of 10k’s a few 5k’s but mainly just the 1 mile. The early sunrise during spring and summer made it a lot easier to get out and go for a run, but with the cold dark mornings now, I often have to push myself out the door! A lot of my runs were with a friend which made it so much more enjoyable. And she is now the reason I’d like to make my year long running streak mean something much more. She is one of the loveliest people I know so it was heartbreaking to hear her news that she had breast cancer, and after having her breast removed is currently going through chemotherapy. She really is one brave and strong young lady. Recently she has had support from Something To Look Forward To which made me decide this is a no brainer, I should finish my 366 consecutive days (it was a leap year this year) of running by raising money for this awesome charity. I’d like to raise at least £366, £1 for each day I have run. I’m asking my generous family and friends to donate just £1, that way I should reach my target and it won’t break anyone’s bank account during these hard times :) :)
