Story

Please help us complete our 1/2 mile southern extension to Boughton in 2021.

Much of the work has been completed. However, we ned your help to get us over the line and hopefully open the extension this year!

We've already:
       Laid most of the track
       Constructed the main platform wall
       Installed most of the signalling
Repaired Bridge 11 (a 7 arch low viaduct and cattle creep)
       Completed the fencing

Tasks outstanding include:
       Completing the bay platform
Completing the trackwork for the headshunt to the bay
Completing the infill behind the platform wall

We're nearly there! Please support us today and help this long-held dream become a reality really soon.

Thank you

About the good cause

Northampton and Lamport Railway Northampton and Lamport Railway

The Northampton & Lamport Railway (NLR) is a steam and heritage diesel tourist railway in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside. Located just 5 miles north of Northampton, we currently have approximately 1½ miles of running track along the old Northampton to Market Harborough line. This route is now the Brampton Valley Way (a 14-mile linear park) so you can not only ride one of our trains along the former line, but also walk along and watch the steam and diesel engines in action.

First established in 1984, we are run purely by volunteers and have been operating train services since 1995. We are currently working to complete our ½ mile southern extension to Boughton, before then pushing north a further 1½ miles to Spratton.
