Hi I’m Anita.

I'm running the London Marathon 2019 for the Mali Development Group and The Running Charity.

I came across these two very special charities through my friend and fellow runner Stephen McKee who inspired me to see if this year I could make a big push to raise some money for some of their special projects.  As you can see from the links above that both charites work to put the power back into the hands of those who they work with.

Firstly, the Mali Development Group, who raises money to support social, health, economic, and political development in Mali, West Africa. The work is done by Malians for Malians, using methods that involve local people and are rooted in local communities.

Secondly, The Running Charity who develop and deliver personalised programmes to support some of the most vumerable ypung people in London and Manchester. They believe that running builds resilience, confidence and self-esteem and use this to improve the lives of 16-25 year olds who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

As I am the only London Marathon runner for these charities I am really trying to smash my target by doing other events such as cake bakes with my kids, selling online and hopefully a social fundraiser evening so I'd be really really grateful if you could take the time to sponsor me on the above links....every penny counts here as I'm determined to hit my target.

Thanks so much and follow my progress, the highs and lows of marathon training on my twitter feed: @anitaruns1
