Rotary in Sherborne is as usual providing the Christmas Crib display at the Conduit for you to enjoy in the run up to the festive season. This year we are raising funds for Sherborne Food Bank, which is a volunteer-run charity, established in 2011, that helps the hungry, and families in crisis, within and around the Parish of Sherborne. Local people and supermarkets donate food supplies on a regular basis, however, financial donations are equally as important as it allows the food bank to purchase items that have not been donated.
We are part of Rotary International which comprises 1.2 million members in over 200 countries worldwide. That is a huge network of like-minded people giving their time to improve lives. Members of our club have travelled overseas to work with local Rotarians on projects such as the Polio eradication project or simply to understand how other clubs worldwide work and to enjoy fellowship with other Rotarians. Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 110 years, Rotary’s people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.
