Over 300 men have been left in Napier Barracks after yesterday's fire. Many have spent the night without electricity, heating or support. They are grouping together in the remaining buildings after some found themselves with their beds and belongings destroyed.
They are terrified and abandoned. They have been locked in the dark with no communication. We are fundraising to help get emergency provisions into the camp. Last night we ensured they had food and need to do so again today, along with providing warm blankets and sleeping bags.
Care4Calais is a volunteer-run charity delivering essential aid and
support to refugees living in the worst conditions across Northern
France, Belgium and Italy. We believe in a fair and tolerant British
society and advocate for a welcoming and inclusive attitude towards

bedding, food and medical assistance to people in desperate need. We
also provide social support and interaction, including language lessons
and sports and music workshops. We are on the ground with the refugees
every single day and are respectful of their common humanity and
responsive to their needs.
