Story

Hi! I'm Jashmin and I'm climbing Mount Kilimanjaro next year for Imkaan's 20th birthday

Imkaan, a second-tier membership organisation that provides that vital coordinated strategic voice for front-line by and for black and 'minority ethnic' (BME) violence against women and girls (VAWG) services. It acts as a conduit between government, statutory agencies, mainstream voluntary organisations and specialist BME VAWG sector.

By and for specialist BME VAWG services are crucial lifelines for BME women and girls who have experienced violence. These services ensure that BME women and girls’ needs and voices are heard and recognised, which is particularly important in the current context of Brexit, austerity, the rise of Islamophobia, police brutality, and the awareness of women’s everyday experience of sexual harassment and so on.

Climbing Kili has always been a dream of mine and being able to fulfil my dream whilst raising money for the important and amazing work that Imkaan is doing to eliminate VAWG.

So PLEASE do donate whatever you can to help Imkaan carry on this invaluable work! #Kili4Imkaan
