On April 5th 2020, I am running The Scheider Electric Marathon de Paris in aid of two cancer charities.
'CanRehab Retreats' and 'Something To Look Forward To' are working in partnership to provide places on the CanRehab Retreat Lanzarote in September 2020 for people affected by 'cancer poverty'. These retreats are guided by the UK's leading cancer and exercise specialists so people with cancer can develop confidence in their own resources and abilities. The funding I raise will give someone affected financially by their cancer diagnosis the opportunity to attend a Retreat for a week of fun, sport and exercise activities who wouldn't usually be able to afford to do so.
I have personally been affected by cancer (myself, my mother & father, as well as one of my grandfathers). I am also very passionate about running and I truly believe that all cancer patients should be encouraged to practice exercise. Therefore, I would love to help to make that possible for people who cannot afford or don't have the ability or confidence to do so by themselves.
The Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris offers a unique opportunity to make the city yours by participating in one of the most prestigious races over the legendary 42.195 km distance. It is now one of the biggest marathons in the world, as much for the size of its field as the performances of its runners. Each finisher comes home with incredible memories. Nearly 145 nationalities & 60,000 runners come to tackle the most fabled long-distance discipline in athletics. In April, this race across Paris, taking in the Champs Elysées, the Bois de Vincennes & Boulogne, offers an incomparable backdrop, with spectacular views and landmarks all along the route.
Please sponsor what you can and don't forget to tick the gift aid box! Thank you x
‘Something To Look Forward To’ benefits people affected by cancer who are also suffering as a result of loss of income due to their illness. The charity provides positive things to look forward to generously donated by companies and individuals.
