At a time when the world is buckling under the weight of division & fear of "the other", Hope in the Heart is continuing to create links between compassionate communities on two very different continents. We are raising funds for Tam & Alan to continue the empathy-based project Ubuntu Soweto, uniting groups in the UK, Soweto townships & across South Africa through a remarkable sharing of compassion, gifts & wisdom. Many lives have already been changed through the links we have developed to evoke & illuminate the common humanity that cuts through barriers, uniting human beings the world over (visit http://www.hopeintheheart.org/news-and-events.html & scroll down.)
Hope in the Heart/ YOMAD have been linking groups in the UK & South Africa since Jan 2015, celebrating diversity & common humanity of very different communities as we share/exchange skills, gifts & knowledge to benefit all concerned. Compassion & empathy have been overarching themes, with the beautiful SA tradition of Ubuntu as inspiration.
This year we need £1500 for Tam & Alan's travel costs, workshops in Soweto, & accommodation with an African family. We are already working with women & young people in the UK & SA whose lives have been enriched by communication with strangers-become-friends & who are keen to deepen the sense of belonging to a human race that cannot be divided by distance, culture, creed or experience. If you would like to connect with our Ubuntu community (by attending a workshop, making or buying a gift for a specific person in SA, or sending a message with your donation) please contact email@example.com.
THANK YOU for your support! <3
