I personally feel like we as individuals in society need to give to the less fortunate. Last year I organised a trip to Mount Snowdon with LMYF and we raised £5000 for Give a Gift and the money was split between Martin House Hospice in Leeds and CHSF... So it's only fair to set a target to double last years' total!

Our target is £10,000 and we hope to have raised the amount by January 2017!

"Attract sustenance by giving charity."

The ‘Give a Gift’ scheme is an initiative developed in Leeds to fundraise for the Children’s Heart Surgery Unit at the Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) and Martin House Children’s Hospice. Both touch the heart of many and after I had visited them, the cause seemed more important than ever. Since 2013, the Give a Gift team have been raising funds and awareness for both the local charities - through a number of initiatives. They have recently been supporting other vulnerable families including refugees in addition to the two charities listed above.

Thank you for your support.

About the good cause

Give A Gift Give A Gift

The Give a Gift concept has been developed by a partnership of organisations that recognise the need for the Muslim Community to play a wider role within mainstream society. Working with Local children’s charities such as The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, Martin House Children’s Hospice & Candlelighters( A Children’s Cancer Charity)  & disadvantaged communities. Our goal is to help facilitate better relations between communities through; giving, volunteering and raising funds for good causes in our city. Through small and simple acts of kindness, we believe we can all play a part in improving the place we live in. The Give a Gift initiative was launched four years ago and since then we have raised over £100,000 for our beneficiary charities and donated over 3,000 toys and gifts. Local businesses, community organisations, key individuals, partner agencies and members of the public have all been involved in the cause and our volunteer led approach encourages people to contribute through developing local initiatives of their own. .
