Often the isolation many of our children and families experience comes from feeling no one understands. Particularly when our children find thing that others consider fun, like Sports Day or Dress Up / Mufti days even parties and Christmas to be really difficult, either because of the change to routine or sensory issues.
As part of the "12 Months Of FUNdraising" one of our fabulous senior playleader Ant, is running the whole 13 miles of the Shrewsbury Half Marathon but CEO, Sam, is just too old for that and therefore for Challenge Sam Number 3, she will don some serious fancy dress and run the 1 mile fun ( trust her it will not be ) run with some of the children of Empathy.
Team "Run a Mile in my Shoes" not only hopes to raise some much needed funds for Empathy but also demonstrate that our kids might not get there in the conventional manner but with the right support and enough understanding, they always get there. Please support team members
A small user lead charity working to reduction the social isolation and improve
the quality of life for those growing up with Autism and Additional Needs across
Shropshire. Through the provision of regular, safe, supported social
opportunities for the whole family, we level the playing field and ensure every
child has an equal opportunity to access a fulfilled and happy childhood.
