Clare and I are raising funds for a volunteer/visitors accommodation at karibu Nyumbani orphanage., In the next 2 years they will not have the space in their houses for guests as there will be increasing children. The mamas at the orphanage have expressed that visitors and volunteers are a crucial part of the life of the children. People free to give time and creativity with the children. We have both helped at the orphanage previously and will be visiting again this summer.
We are hoping to raise £1400 which will cover the cost of furnishing the house, and any other needs of the orphanage
On Saturday 27th May we will be doing a sponsored walk , following the St. Swithuns way from Alresford to Farnham. .With water supply always being a bit of an issue at the orphanage, the association of St Swithun with rain, seemed very apt.
We are very happy that Christina Edwards ,a young parishioner from Holy Family church is now also joining us for the walk.
We would also like to remember Royston Dorsa who tragically lost his life in Dar es Salaam before being able to join Karibu Nyumbani as a volunteer. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends . R.I.P
Thank you to all of Royston's family and friends who have donated on this page, he will be remembered in Karibu Nyumbani, as the volunteer house will be named, ROYSTON HOUSE.
