Story
I am a cardiothoracic surgeon working at the Lancashire cardiac centre (LCC). In the decade or so I have completed a number of challenges including cycling in Jordan, cycling London to Paris ,cycling coast to coast in the UK, walking Keswick to Barrow and running the London Marathon in 2018! I raised thousands of pounds for various charities. Initially I sat up this page in 2019 to do the big bike ride in South Africa 2020. However Covid struck and i had to change the venue and the time of my bike ride to 2022, I am hoping by then Covid is over and travelling is back to normality. I am raising funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) - one of the pioneering cardiovascular research organisation- by cycling from Moscow to St Petersburg in September 2022; averaging 100 km a day over 5 days a mix of easy and challenging rides . Heart disease kills one in three people and the LCC is dedicated to treating patients from Lancashire and Cumbria with life threatening cardiac conditions. Innovative surgical treatments and research are supported by the BHF to enable us to offer our patients the best and newest therapies. I am self funding the trip so all the money raised by this event will go to BHF. Please be generous with your support.
