About the good cause

Mousetrap Theatre Projects

We believe passionately in the power of theatre to transform young lives. Our mission is to engage, educate and inspire young people through theatre, particularly those who are disadvantaged economically, socially or have special needs. We take approximately 14,000 children and young people on trips to London’s outstanding theatre each year supported by innovative education projects which teach new skills, nurture creativity and build confidence and aspiration.

Our core areas of endeavour are:

  • Opening Theatre Doors - to young people who have never been before, specifically those with limited resources, support or a disability
  • Creative Learning - using theatre in and out of the classroom to fuel creative work and develop personal and theatre-related skills
  • Inspiring Future Theatregoers - enhancing young audiences’ knowledge and appreciation of theatre and help make theatre-going an enduring part of their lives
  • Training - creating a new generation of theatre-makers and arts administrators through training and careers events, plus up-skilling arts, education and youth-work professionals
