Organ Recital by Sean Maxwell

St. Walburge's Shrine Church will be hosting an exciting event, a classical music recital on the pipe organ in order to raise funds to continue with the ongoing restoration works of our beautiful Church.
The programme will be a colourful collection of baroque and early classical works from Germany and Austria, featuring legendary composers, Johann Sebastian Bach and Joseph Haydn as well as traditional Gregorian chants from the Graduale Romanum.

Sean Maxwell, a native of West Virginia, USA, and currently living in Austria, is an active organist and church musician. He has held positions at Baumgartenberg Monastery and with the orchestra of the St. Cecilia Association of Sacred Music (Austria) and in the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston (USA).
Maxwell is also an accomplished soloist, having performed throughout the United States, Austria, Germany, Portugal and the United Kingdom. He hopes to bring early music to a wider audience, increasing the understanding of the Church’s musical heritage and in this way supporting the  ICKSP and traditional Catholicism.

The Shrine Church will be a magnificent backdrop to enjoy the compositions of such wonderful musicians, this event will be the only one of its kind in the North West.

Why not stroll over to our bar area afterwards where you can enjoy a nice relaxing drink, inside or outside  from our fully stocked bar?
