Holly Grove is the only primary special needs school in Burnley teaching children with generic learning difficulties. Recently it has been awarded ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted and Primary School of the year at the East Lancashire Education Awards.
In conjunction with her parents, we set up “The Georgia Fourie Butterfly Fund” in memory of a very special pupil who sadly passed away after many years of bad health. This fund is to raise money to improve and enhance the lives of our wonderful pupils.
In December 2015, we became a registered charity whose aims and purposes are to support young people in the area with special educational needs and disabilities and their families. We are raising money for a 7 seater vehicle, a residential visit for our KS1 pupils, an interactive screen for our sensory studio, equipment for our rebound therapy room and Georgia's helping hand grant to support families with high cost items for their homes. Our registered charity number is 1164871.
In March 2016 we were delighted to welcome Ted Robbins as our charity's patron and look forward to working with him in the future.
